Sculptural Whisky Bar Design Inspired by the ‘Water of Life’

Located in the heart of Causeway Bay, Aqua on Pennington is a whisky bar that flows seamlessly between an indoor lounge and a spacious outdoor terrace. At the heart of the space lies a curved sculptural bar counter, designed to represent a droplet of water—a symbolic tribute to the Gaelic origin of whisky, known as the “Water of Life.”

Upon entering, guests are welcomed by the custom-designed bar which anchors the space with its flowing silhouette and refined material palette. The lower bar fascia wrapped in shimmering copper curtain exudes warmth and elegance, while the overhead backlit display cabinet showcases fine bottles like floating jewels, adding to the refined atmosphere.

This design doesn’t just reflect sophistication—it creates a sensory journey, balancing the warm intimacy of the indoor area with the open-air vibrance of the outdoor deck. The transition between inside and outside is fluid, making Aqua on Pennington a versatile whisky bar destination perfect for both quiet tastings and social evenings under the city lights.
