Nestled near the mountains with panoramic sea views, this Hong Kong villa combines architecture, landscape, and interior design into a seamless living experience. Our team transformed the 1999-built property into a modern luxury home with a muted natural palette, wellness features, smart systems, and entertainment zones tailored to the client’s lifestyle.
Design Concept & Approach
The essence of this villa lies in embracing nature while upgrading comfort, functionality, and aesthetics. Our palette of beige tones, raw wood, natural stone, textured metal, and soft lighting reflects the muted richness of the surrounding mountain and ocean views.
Overcoming Structural Constraints
The villa’s low ceiling height was reimagined with a rhythmic curved high-and-low ceiling design. Indirect lighting was integrated to conceal beams, soften the visual weight, and elevate the sense of height.
Statement Living & Dining Spaces
- Floating Staircase & Lift: A sculptural marble staircase spiraling around a hydraulic glass lift connects levels with elegance.
- Kitchen & Dining: The green marble island serves as a bold centerpiece, blending art and function in the open-plan social hub.
- Lightroom: Positioned beside the living room, it frames sweeping ocean views, connects to the pool, and floods the space with sunlight.
Art & Lifestyle Integration
The upper floor doubles as an art gallery and family room. Movable partitions and gallery lighting allow the space to shift between art exhibitions and family gatherings, while smart controls keep all systems discreetly hidden.
Guest Experience – Luxury in Every Suite
With four en-suite guest bedrooms, each designed as a self-contained hotel-style suite, visitors enjoy privacy and comfort. Every room includes:
- A unique design theme
- Private bathroom
- Walk-in closet
- Pantry & mini-fridge
Master Suites – Dual Personalities
Two distinct master suites reflect the owners’ individual tastes and needs. Both include private working areas and walk-in closets, ensuring functionality without sacrificing style.
Wellness & Entertainment
- Outdoor Sauna: A rooftop red light therapy sauna promotes health and wellness.
- Entertainment Room & Dark Bar: Designed for karaoke, movie nights, and gatherings, featuring ambient indirect lighting and glowing wall panels for a moody, luxurious atmosphere.
- Private Audio Music Room: Customized with acoustic ceilings and wall treatments for high-quality sound experiences.
Outdoor & Functional Enhancements
- Private Pool: Enhanced with a swimming treadmill, enabling full workouts despite compact size.
- Garage Entrance: Fitted with a German-engineered wood-textured electric gate blending durability with design.
- Garden & Landscape: Carefully landscaped to harmonize with the surrounding mountain greenery and oceanfront setting.
Infrastructure & Smart Living
Designing a house of this scale in Hong Kong requires blending aesthetic creativity with technical precision. We incorporated:
- New ventilation and humidifier systems for air quality and comfort
- Smart home automation (lighting, AC, security)
- Typhoon and wind protection for structural safety
- Advanced security system for privacy and peace of mind
- Easy-maintenance design solutions for long-term use
