Where Blooms Meet Brews – A Floral Café Hybrid Experience in Pacific Place, Hong Kong

Located in the heart of Pacific Place, Where Blooms Meet Brews is a carefully curated hybrid retail space that offers customers the refined charm of a floral boutique cafe. Designed by LOT Architects, the project redefines how a small retail space can deliver both aesthetic delight and business functionality — seamlessly merging the experience of buying flowers with enjoying a quiet coffee break.

Design Strategy

This flower café interior design in Hong Kong leverages a split-layout concept. The store is divided into two main zones: the floral display area and the café seating zone, allowing both business types to function independently while complementing each other.

  • Café Zone: A velvet banquette with marble tables, pastel green palette, and a copper-detailed arch menu wall deliver a timeless café ambiance.
  • Floral Area: An open flower display at the shopfront draws immediate visual interest, showcasing seasonal blooms in a clean and curated format.
  • Front Seating: Strategically placed seating by the entrance invites walk-in traffic and encourages spontaneous customer interaction.

Aesthetic & Material Language

Inspired by modern classic interiors, the design adopts a soothing pastel green brand identity and elevates it through refined copper accents, warm lighting, and textured glass partitions. The elegant yet functional finishes promote a cozy and stylish atmosphere aligned with luxury retail.

The black-and-white patterned tile flooring and arched built-ins add a nostalgic yet upscale flair — blending old-world charm with contemporary elegance.

Customer Experience Design

This concept was born out of the idea to provide a lifestyle-driven retail destination in Hong Kong, where customers can pause, unwind, and experience beauty in their everyday routine.

The space:

  • Enhances engagement by combining sensory experiences (sight, scent, taste).
  • Encourages linger time with cozy seating and barista interactions.
  • Provides a new typology of boutique retail for city dwellers and professionals.

Smart Planning & Sustainability

Despite the limited footprint, the space planning maximizes utility with open displays, intuitive traffic flow, and multifunctional elements. Energy-efficient lighting and long-lasting, sustainable materials ensure the store is both environmentally conscious and economically durable.
